The 45th edition of the "Manaki Brothers" International Film Festival begins tonight

The "Manaki Brothers" Film Camera Festival will begin its 45th edition tonight. Traditionally, in front of the Cultural Center in Bitola, at 19:15 the red carpet will be laid, and at 19:45 the opening ceremony and screening of the Cannes hit film "Partenope" directed by Paolo Sorrentino, cinematographer Daria D'Antonio will begin. The film is in the official CAMERA 300 selection.

This year's winner of the Golden Camera 300 Lifetime Achievement Award is French cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel, who will attend the opening ceremony and receive the award. The winner of the special Golden Camera 300 award for outstanding contribution to world cinema is the distinguished Polish cinematographer Jolanta Dilewska.

At the opening ceremony, the award presented by the Society of Filmmakers of Macedonia (SFMM) - "Big Star of Macedonian Film" will be presented, the winner of which is Dimitar Grbevski, Macedonian film and television editor.

The first guests have already arrived in Bitola. The red carpet has been laid out in front of the Cultural Center - Bitola. The city is getting the glow of the Film Camera Festival in honor of the Manaki brothers and is ready for tonight's opening.

Starting tomorrow (Sunday), for the first time on Shirok Sokak in Bitola, stars will be unveiled for all previous winners of the Golden Camera 300 award, which is awarded for lifetime achievement with the year they received them, starting with the Manaki brothers, in whose name the festival was created. The two - Janaki and Milton Manaki - will each receive one star, which will be opened tomorrow (Sunday) in the presence of their family members. This unique "Walk of Fame" starts in front of the Manaki Cinema and goes towards the Officers' Home.

This year, 18 stars will be unveiled. Six of the previous laureates will attend the glamorous ceremony where each will unveil their star. This year's winner of the Golden Camera 300 for lifetime achievement, French cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel, will also do so. The stars are made of brass with the names of the laureate cinematographers engraved and embedded in a marble slab, and the design solution is the work of the company "Božinovski".

The presence of 300 to 450 guests at this year's edition of the Festival has been announced, including presidents and representatives of numerous national and international cinematographic organizations (from the USA, UK, Italy, France, Spain, Australia, IMAGO...).

The "Manaki Brothers" Festival strengthens its position as a place for the promotion of talented cinematographers, as well as for the increasing representation of women in the role of cinematographers and directors.

The IFK "Manaki Brothers" will bring the cream of the world's cinematographic scene. 17 top masters of the film camera will arrive in Bitola, who have won numerous awards from the most prestigious film festivals and associations for their work. During the seven festival days, the audience will enjoy 65 exceptional film achievements.
