The weekend is a great time to try something new, so today, as the day before the weekend, we bring you a recipe for sweet pastries with jam.
Besides being delicious, they are also decorative and resemble small retro stationery.
Here's what you'll need:
- Packaging puff pastry
- Plum jam, or other jam to taste
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- Powdered sugar
Preparation:
Roll out the puff pastry until you have a thin base. Using a square cutter (or knife), cut out square shapes to make four equal pieces. Gather the remaining dough together, then roll out again to make two more squares.
If you roll it thin enough, you can get a total of 10 squares. Join them diagonally to form a letter shape and fill them with jam of your choice.
For the stamp you will need thin circle shapes, and to decorate them, use anything as a motif and stamp it on them.
Once the letters are formed, beat the egg in a small bowl and brush each pastry with it, just be careful not to put it on top of the jam.
Sprinkle them with powdered sugar, then place them in a preheated oven at 220 degrees and bake for about 20-25 minutes.
Once they are baked and cooled, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar again.
