"Land of Storks" with costumes by ELENA LUKA tomorrow at the MKC

Tomorrow at the MKC, starting at 8:00 PM, the play "Land of Storks" will be held, in which the costumes are created and supported by ELENA LUKA. The director and set designer of the play, Robert Ristov, talks to Fashionel about how important the investment of socially responsible companies in culture and art is to them.

"ELENA LUKA is a great woman and one of the few who supports culture and art in Macedonia. The play was made without a budget, all in order to try to express our dissatisfaction with this "white plague", that is, the emigration of Macedonians. I would also like to emphasize the high level of professionalism, the refined sense of aesthetics in the making of the costumes and the openness to jointly upgrading the entire concept in terms of the visual impression that the costumes reflect on stage," Ristov said.

The play "Land of Storks", which warns and openly speaks about the causes and consequences of the enormous number of emigrations of young people from their homeland, is performed by "Provocation Theater" and is being realized on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the theater's establishment.

The play takes place in Ohrid and follows the life journeys of two couples in relation to emigration from Macedonia. One – separated about 20 years ago, and the other – is experiencing the moment of separation for the same reasons.

"We wanted this play to be a reaction to the situation in Macedonia. One of the most important missions of theater art is to speak out about the biggest social problems. We are all living together with the problem of the great wave of emigration and most of us, whether we like it or not, are personally affected by this enormous emigration. What we present through the play is very emotional and honest, the audience recognizes that and reacts with great empathy," says Ristov.

The play "Land of Storks" is based on motifs from the text "The Heat in November" by Jana Dobreva, and stars: Mirjana P. Ristov, Robert Ristov, Izabela Jakimova and Rado Aleksovski.
