French fashion house Givenchy has chosen its new creative director, and her name is Sarah Burton.
Before taking on this position, Burton worked for Alexander McQueen and did it exceptionally well.
The brand, besides being close to her aesthetic, also connected to Sarah through her British sensibilities.
Givenchy's chairman of the board, Sidney Toledo, had only words of praise for her arrival in this position:
Her unique approach to fashion will be invaluable to this legendary fashion house, known for pushing boundaries.
As stated by Givenchy, Sara will be the designer and creative director of both the women's and men's collections.
She herself stated that she is very excited to be part of a great fashion story and to be able to bring her vision and sensibility to the brand.
Burton's first signature collection will be shown at Paris Fashion Week in March next year.
