The Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra will perform on one of the world's most important stages

The Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra will hold a concert in one of the world's most important concert venues in Vienna, where the most famous New Year's concert in the world is held every January 1. The concert will take place on October 28 in the "Golden Hall" on the concert stage of the "Musikverein".

The performance of the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra on the stage of the "Musikverein" in Vienna marks the completion of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the formation of the orchestra, and will also mark 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and Macedonia.

At the concert in Vienna, Ana and Igor Durlovski will perform as soloists, and the conductor will be Maestro Jerucham Sharovski from Israel. The program includes "Macedonian Paraphrase No. 2" by Bete Ilin, "The Difficult" by Gligor Smokvarski, Five Traditional Macedonian Songs in Orchestral Arrangements by the composer Soni Petrovski, and Symphony No. 8 by Antonin Dvorak. The program represents a blend of Macedonian musical tradition and folklore and European classics.

– Culture is the strongest diplomatic instrument of a country. The Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, with its performance at the “Musikverein”, will present the Macedonian tradition to the international public and will contribute to improving the image of the country and its connection with the world’s cultural and artistic centers. The concert of the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra at the “Musikverein” is not just another performance by our orchestra. It is a historic moment for Macedonian culture that proves that our country has valuable artistic potential that will open new perspectives for Macedonian music on the international stage. There is no better end to the year in which our institution celebrated 80 years since its establishment than a performance in this world-class “temple of music” and one of the most prestigious music scenes in the world – says Aleksandar Kotevski, acting director of the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Musikverein in Vienna is one of the most important concert halls in the world. Located in the heart of Vienna, it is home to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, where the traditional New Year's Concert is held every year on January 1. The concert hall dates back to 1870 and is the work of the Danish architect Theophil Hansen, whose design was inspired by Greek and Roman architecture. The central place is occupied by the 2000-seat "Golden Hall", which is known for its incredible beauty and exceptional acoustics. The Musikverein is not only a symbol of Vienna and its rich musical heritage, but also a center of world classical music culture. Throughout history, the world's most important soloists and conductors have performed on the stage of the "Musikverein" (Herbert von Karajan, Leonard Bernstein, Claudio Abbado, Arthur Rubinstein, Vladimir Horowitz, Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, Riccardo Muti, Gustavo Dudamel, Anna Sophie Mutter, Lang Lang, Yo-Yo Ma...), but also composers such as Johannes Brahms, Anton Bruckner, Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss, who conducted the first performances of many of their musical masterpieces on this very stage.
