One of the pearls of classical ballet art, "Esmeralda" by Italian composer Cesare Pugni, will be performed on the stage of the National Opera and Ballet (NOB) tonight, February 19, starting at 8:00 PM.
The story of the beautiful Esmeralda, inspired by the novel "The Bell Ringer" by Victor Hugo, will be performed under the baton of the guest from Armenia, Eduard Ambartsumyan, choreographed by the renowned choreographer from Russia, Mikhail Krapivin.The scenography and costume design are by Živojin Trajanović and Ljupka Ristovska, and the concertmaster is Jane Bakevski.
Prima ballerina Marija Kichevska Shokarovska will perform in the title role, Francisco Jimenez Ruiz (Spain) will perform in the role of Phoebe, Simona Kolistrkoska will play the role of Fleur de Lys, and the role of Gudula will be played by Sasha Evtimova, who this year celebrates 25 years of artistic activity as a prominent ballet dancer, pedagogue and choreographer.
The principal dancers, soloists, the ballet ensemble and the orchestra of the National Opera and Ballet perform.
