Macedonian film "DJ Ahmet" awarded at Sundance

The Macedonian film "DJ Ahmet" by Georgi Unkovski experienced great success through its world premiere at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Award for Creative Vision and the Audience Award.

The film has already been sold in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Israel and throughout the former Yugoslavia, "Variety" reported, adding that negotiations are underway for other territories.
"DJ Ahmet" is a drama about a 15-year-old boy from a Juruk village in Eastern Macedonia, who finds refuge in music and dreams of becoming a DJ while dealing with his father's expectations, a conservative community, and his first experience with love - a girl who is already promised to someone else.

The film is a co-production between "Cinema Futura" and "Sektor Film" from Macedonia, "Alter Vision" and "Analog Vision" from the Czech Republic, "Bekrum Production" and "Baš Čelik" from Serbia. The film's producers are Ivan Unkovski and Ivana Šekutkoska.
The film is supported by the Film Agency.
