In her latest Instagram Story post, Meghan was spotted in a casual look, wearing a purple sweatshirt from Northwestern University, where she studied.
This fashion choice immediately brought to mind a similar moment from 1996, when Princess Diana was photographed wearing the same university sweatshirt during her visit to Chicago. She later paired it with her signature '90s styling – cropped leggings, chunky sneakers, and a Gucci bag.
This isn't the first time Meghan has paid tribute to Diana through fashion. From wearing her jewelry like a diamond cross necklace and butterfly earrings, to choosing the classic Dior Lady D-Lite bag (inspired by Diana's favorite Lady Dior), she always finds a way to connect her personal aesthetic with her family's heritage.
Thanks to Megan, we were able to see two generations in one timeless sweatshirt that created a fashion moment full of history.
