Sarah Burton celebrated femininity in her debut show for Givenchy

Sarah Burton officially presented her first fashion show as Artistic Director of Givenchy at Paris Fashion Week, bringing a fresh vision inspired by the brand's history.

At the Oscars, she already gave a subtle hint about her collection – Elle Fanning shone in her design: a white lace dress with a dramatic black ribbon, evoking the era of Hubert de Givenchy himself.

The history of the French fashion house remains at the heart of the new collection. Burton was inspired by archival couture cuts from 1952, found during the renovation of Givenchy's first atelier. This prompted her to set the show in the legendary space at 3, Avenue George V.

“I have a natural instinct to go back to the craft, the tailoring, the shaping,” says Burton. She masterfully combined retro elements—balloon sleeves, corsets, accented scarves—with modern silhouettes, creating looks that celebrated feminine strength and sensuality.

With this collection, Burton confirmed that Givenchy remains a symbol of elegance, but with a new, bold spirit that reflects the woman of 2025 – strong, independent and definitely her own.
