Drama Theater opens the new season with the award-winning play "My Husband"

The new season at Dramaski begins tomorrow with the play “My Husband.” The Dramaski ensemble recently participated in the international theater festival Purgatorij 2024 in Tivat, Montenegro, where it won the “Actor’s Bravura” award for the play “My Husband.”

The jury's explanation states: "It is undeniable that the art of acting has its own authentic space in relation to the directorial-dramaturistic concept, but that the acting division in a play functions as an organism, a complex mind, a well-organized machinery, which is able to thoroughly understand and overcome the contemporary harsh reality, the interpersonal abyss that opens between those closest to us, is a supreme mastery that is seen less and less in theater today. The actors in this play are in themselves a sufficient critical mass for excellent theater, consciously connected to their own psychological layers, electrified by personal troubles, ready to annul themselves and be reborn from within, revealing to the viewer the old-new therapeutic truth about the human conscience."

The director of the play "My Husband" is Nela Vitošević, the playwright is Viktorija Rangelova-Petrovska. The dramatization is by Nela Vitošević and Viktorija Rangelova-Petrovska. The costume designer is Roza Trajčevska-Ristoska, the set designer is Konstantin Trpenoski and the assistant set designer is Monika Angelevska. The music is chosen by Nela Vitošević.

The roles in the play are played by the following actors: Sara Klimoska, Sanja Arsovska, Emilija Micevska, Natalija Teodosieva, Trajanka Ilieva-Veljic, Igor Angelov, Ismet Šabanović and Filip Trajković.

After its premiere in 2020, the play "My Husband" has been in the regular repertoire of the main stage for five seasons.

At the Vojdan Chernodrinski Festival in 2021, the play received 4 awards: "Costume Design Award" by Roza Trajchevska-Ristoska for the costumes in the play, "Award for Contemporary Stage Dramatization" by Nela Vitošević and Viktorija Rangelova-Petrovska for the dramatization of Rumena Bužarovska's collage of short stories and the author's monologues, "Award for Leading Female Role" by Natalija Teodosieva for the roles in the play "My Husband" and "Award for Overall Artistic Engagement and Result of the Author and Actors".

Drama Theatre Skopje has performed this play on several occasions with excellent reception from the audience. It was performed in Slovenia on the stage of the "Mestno gledališče" in Ljubljana, in Montenegro on the stage of the "Gradsko pozoriste" in Podgorica, and last year on the summer stage of Brioni at the Croatian edition of the "RUTA" festival.
