One of the key trends we could spot on the runways for Spring/Summer 2025 is known as “Soft Power” – a term that describes a powerful yet sophisticated business style.
Corporate style was the dominant theme of the season. Designers reinterpreted classic workwear with a Wall Street-inspired palette, oversized suits, and accessories like ties, briefcases, and even rolled-up newspapers. The trend was given a modern twist through the use of fluid fabrics and creative layering.
The return of the skirt suit has been particularly notable. Stella McCartney, Bottega Veneta and Max Mara have given this classic ensemble a fresh, fashion-forward twist. Instead of the short skirts that currently dominate the stores, the runways for the spring/summer 2025 season were awash with pencil skirts and midi lengths.
Max Mara's brown suit was refreshed with a silk shirt unbuttoned enough to reveal a black bra, while Bottega Veneta introduced oversized skirts and blazers, making them more comfortable and less formal.
Corporate style on the catwalk was also favored by Michael Kors, who created a gray two-piece set with a tailored jacket and a thin belt that gave a sophisticated touch, emphasizing the beauty of the female silhouette.
This style was also promoted by Kendall Jenner, who showed a different approach after the Schiaparelli show in Paris. Instead of jeans and a T-shirt, she appeared in an elegant suit with a skirt by Alberta Ferretti, styled with leather gloves, a burgundy bag from The Row and leather loafers from Bottega Veneta.
The supermodel sent a clear message – this season, the business look is in focus.
