In the name of love

Love is one of the most sublime feelings. It is an emotion that lifts us to the heavens, gives us meaning to life, and makes us seek it again and again.

That's why today we will pay some attention to the holiday of love – February 14. Love should be celebrated every day, but this date is special.

The celebration of Saint Valentine's Day dates back a long time and there are several legends about its origin.

One of them says that it began with the Roman fertility festival, Lupercalia, and according to another legend, the holiday is celebrated in honor of a priest who was killed for the sake of his beloved. According to this legend, he signed the letters he sent to her “from your Valentine”.

The holiday began to gain significance in the 17th century, when people began sending cards and letters to their loved ones and friends.

However, the first mass-produced cards with love content for the holiday appeared in the 1840s, thanks to Esther A. Howland, who created creative versions with lace and bows.

In addition to cards, chocolates also entered the scene as gifts, and the first heart-shaped ones were created by Richard Cadbury in 1861.

Flowers are also a symbol of the holiday, and roses are the most commonly given gift.

Valentine's Day is celebrated in the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, as well as in Argentina, France, Mexico and South Korea.

Due to its popularity, it is starting to be accepted here, so products with this theme are often offered, as well as special discounts and arrangements in honor of Valentine's Day.

We celebrate love every moment, and today with a glass of red wine and a few style moments inspired by it.
